Nursery group Asquith has acquired a 100-place nursery in Kent.

The newest nursery is Hickory House Children’s Day Nursery, near Dartford and Bluewater Shopping Centre.

The chain now operates 82 nurseries, providing more than 6,000 places.

Asquith chief executive officer Andy Morris, said, ‘Rated Outstanding by Ofsted three times in succession, Hickory House is a first class nursery with a wonderful, dedicated and professional team; a perfect fit for Asquith.

‘We look forward to welcoming the children, parents and staff into the Asquith family and ensure them that the safety and wellbeing of the children and staff is our number one priority.’

The nursery group has bought or opened several sites since the beginning of the year.

The setting is the latest in a string of purchases, in what the chain calls ‘a fast-paced acquisition programme’.

In June, Asquith acquired two settings based in Glasgow, under the brand name Four Seasons Nurseries.

Earlier this year Asquith also opened new settings in Putney, Raynes Park and Chingford.

In Nursery World’s Nursery Chains supplement Asquith is listed as the third largest nursery group in the UK and Ireland.
