Professor Nutbrown is leading the independent review of early education and childcare qualifications for the Department for Education.
She is inviting Nursery World readers and website users to submit their questions and comments on early years qualifications, career paths and workforce directly to her for a special Nursery World website feature.
Your responses will also be used by the review panel in considering its recommendations and help to shape its report due to be published this summer.
Professor Nutbrown says, 'I want to hear from you as I want our report to strengthen qualifications and improve pathways to support career progression in the sector, to the benefit of young children, their families, and those who work in the early childhood sector. Please send me your questions. I'll use your comments to feed in to my thinking on the report, as feedback and insight from those working with children is critical.'
Send your questions and comments by the end of January to NWfeedback@haymarket.com. Professor Nutbrown will answer as many as possible for our web feature to run in February.
The review is focusing on:
- the content of early years and childcare qualifications and training courses to improve the skills, knowledge and experience of early years professionals
- career progression and motivation
- the development of a range of qualifications for early years workers at every stage of their career
- the high standards and quality that are needed to meet the needs of children, familiees, workers and employers in the early years sector
- raising the status of early education and childcare.
