Government to spend 10m on specialist dyslexia training

The government is to spend 10m on specialist training for 4,000 teachers to help children with dyslexia.

The funding is in response to recommendations made by Sir Jim Rose's review into children with dyslexia and literacy difficulties, published on Monday. Children's secretary Ed Balls accepted all the review's recommendations and also commissioned further guidance. Identifying and Teaching Children and Young People with Dyslexia and Literacy Difficulties is on the publications section of www.dcsf.gov.uk.
