Kids Allowed launches a nanny service for working parents

Nursery group Kids Allowed is launching a Nanny @ Nursery service for parents who work long or atypical hours.

From next week, 12 May, parents will be able to hire their child’s key person to care for them outside of nursery hours while they are still at work, similar to hiring a nanny.

The idea behind the 'Nanny @ Nursery service is to provide ‘bespoke childcare’ for parents who work outside of Kids Allowed's opening hours, whether that be a child’s key person taking them to and from nursery or caring for a child for a few hours in the morning or evening in their own home.

The new service will be available across all of Kids Allowed’s five nurseries.

Chief executive of Kids Allowed Jennie Johnson told Nursery World that the nursery group would be recruiting new members of staff for the Nanny @ Nursery Service, as well as offering current members of staff the opportunity.

Members of staff involved in the Nanny @ Nursery Service would be employed by Kids Allowed and work at the nursery during the day.

The cost of the service to parents will be dependent on their needs and the ratio of children to staff.

Ms Johnson said she hoped that local companies might work with the group to provide a childcare package for their employees.
