NCB names new chief executive

The National Children’s Bureau has appointed Anna Feuchtwang as successor to outgoing CEO Dr Hilary Emery.

Ms Feuchtwang has been the chief executive of international development charity EveryChild since 2004 and, until 2011, was also chair of BOND, a network of more than 300 international voluntary organisations.

She spent ten years with Oxfam as head of communications, before becoming director of communications and public affairs at the Association for London Government, where she worked with London’s 33 authorities on child protection issues following the Victoria Climbie case and the introduction of the Every Child Matters legislation.

Dr Emery will leave NCB in the summer to ‘focus on her passion for education’ after three years in the role.

Having begun her career as a teacher and working in education policy and practice for many years, she said wanted to focus again on education-related issues.
