Peanut allergy study

Health
A three-year study to find a cure for children with peanut allergies starts next month at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Funded by the National Institute for Health Research, it will see over 100 children with severe peanut allergies given increasing doses of peanut flour to build up tolerance to deadly allergens. A Department of Health spokesperson said, 'This research builds on the promising results of a small trial. If successful, it could provide a technique that could benefit thousands of people.'
