One area which has already benefited from the Leader+ scheme is Bayton near Kidderminster in the West Midlands, where a derelict dairy was converted into a community centre providing childcare and opportunities for work and training.
Applications to the scheme are made by community partnerships, which could be based on existing partnerships such as EYDCPs or could be specially formed to submit the bid.
Application forms are available on the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs website at www.defra.gov.uk/erdp/leader/leaderhome.htm.Information is also available from the DEFRA helpline on 08459 33 55 77.
