The group, which operates 10 settings across Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire, has written to its staff team of nearly 400 employees to let them know they will receive a bonus payment, equivalent to a week’s pay, at the end of November.

Writing to all employees, Snapdragons’s director of finance Jennifer Bidel, says, ‘We are very aware of how tricky the last 18 months has been for everybody, both personally and professionally. Lockdowns aside, life at work has been significantly different. You have worked in stressful conditions, dealing with isolating team members and children, been constrained to working in small bubbles and coped with enhanced cleaning routines amongst many, many other things. We know how tiring this has been and we can see the effect that it is having on many of you.

‘We have always been delighted with what a fantastic team we have at Snapdragons and we want to thank each and every one of you, no matter what job role or seniority, for remaining as part of the team.’

Co-owner Rosemary Collard said, ‘The last year and a half, particularly the earliest part of the pandemic in 2020, has been incredibly challenging for the childcare industry, both owners and employees. We are delighted to be able to thank our staff for their hard work and dedication to the children and parents at Snapdragons. They have made a difference to nearly 1,500 children and families through this difficult time.’
