The Department for Children, Schools and Families has produced resources for Sure Start Children's Centres Week, which runs from 14-18 September, to help settings organise and publicise their events, including merchandise packs of leaflets for parents, posters, balloons and t-shirts for staff, and event handbooks, which offer advice on setting up events, a template press release, a template VIP invitation letter and key facts about Sure Start Children's Centres.
There are a limited number of packs available and they will be distributed close to the launch of National Sure Start Children's Centre Week. More than 600 children's centres have already signed up to the event.
Children's centres can find out what other settings in their area are planning by registering on the Sure Start Children's Centres section of www.dcsf.gov.uk and www.dcsf.gov.uk/everychildmatters.
