Win 20,000 for your setting in early years art competition

Nurseries and pre-schools still have time to enter the Nick Jr Help Dora Help Award Fund for a chance to win 20,000 for their setting.

Nurseries and pre-schools have until 22 July to register for the Help Dora Help free activity pack and submit their application for the £20,000 award.

The pack, which follows the EYFS development goals, contains lesson plans, a practitioners’ guide and reward stickers based on Dora the Explorer’s adventures.

For a chance to win the £20,000 award, early years settings need to fill the Dora Map Poster with pictures and artwork and upload a photo of their poster to the Nick Jr website. Nurseries and pre-schools must also explain how the prize fund could help their setting and what benefit it would have to children in their care.

An expert panel of judges will choose five finalists who will receive discovery and learning equipment from Chad Valley and a visit from Dora the Explorer. The five finalists’ awards bids will also be filmed and aired on Nick Jr for the public to choose a winner.

The Help Dora Help Award Fund is an initiative supported by The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts designed to support nurseries and pre-schools in their educational efforts.

The winner of the 2011 award was Hope Nursery School in Belfast (pictured), who used the prize fund to build a play area with play structures, a puppet theatre and sand and water area.

Nurseries and pre-schools can apply for the free Help Dora Help Activity Pack and Award Fund at www.nickjr.co.uk.
