Blackpool-based nursery group to create 20 jobs

Monday, July 14, 2014

A Blackpool-based nursery group is creating 20 full-time jobs as it expands this autumn.

Learning Curve Nursery Group, which has three existing settings based in and around Blackpool, plans to convert a former nursing home into a 54-place nursery over the summer.

Area manager Lisa Taylor said the new staff team were currently being recruited, and would be drawn from existing staff and new applicants, with no manager yet in place.

She is the group’s graduate lead and will work across all four settings with staff on curriculum and activities.

The new site, which has not yet been named and will be based in Blackpool’s Lytham Road, will comprise a baby room, a toddlers’ room, a large area for the two- to three-year-olds and two pre-schools. Building work is scheduled to begin on 1 August and to take 12 weeks.

The Learning Curve group was founded in 2001 and is run by a husband and wife team.

All cater for children from birth to five years old, and host extracurricular activities such as music, French, football and drama.

The couple are understood to have been looking to expand for a while but have had trouble finding suitable premises.
