DIT forum continues drive for early years expansion in China

The Department for International Trade is inviting early years providers to a UK-China Early Years Education Development Forum on 7 December.

The government department is bringing a Chinese delegation to the UK to showcase nursery settings and assist providers and potential investors to make business connections.

The aim is to raise the presence and profile of the UK early years education sector in the fast-expanding Chinese market. The event follows September's DIT early years education trade mission to China, which took 14 nursery, nursery chain and training company representatives to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

At the free event in Westminster, London on 7 December, British nurseries can meet with Chinese education groups, investors and government-affiliated organisations, to explore the global direction of travel in the sector and possibilities for collaboration and internationalisation of their brands.

The event will include a business matching morning of one-to-one discussions between UK providers and the Chinese delegates, followed by the forum, with speakers including:

  • Gill Jones of Ofsted
  • Dr Chris Pascal of the Centre for Research in Early Childhood
  • Arun Kanwar of Cairneagle Associates

Nursery World will also be attending.
