The aim of the survey is to gain perspectives from providers on how settings are being affected by rising energy costs, and to what extent existing Government support packages, including the Energy Bill Relief Scheme, are likely to help at a time when the Government is set to review existing support measures.

It has been launched the same day as the new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced he is to reverse measures announced by his predecessor in the mini budget, including only offering support on energy bills for six months rather than two years, with a review in April.

Findings from the Alliance’s survey will be used to support its ongoing campaigning and help inform conversations with policymakers. All responses will be kept anonymous.

Neil Leitch, chief executive of the Early Years Alliance, said, ‘There’s no doubt that the soaring cost of gas and electricity is having a significant impact on the early years sector and continues to heap additional pressure on a sector that is already being pushed to the brink.

‘As we head further into the autumn and winter months, and the Government looks to review both existing and future support, we are keen to ensure that we have a holistic and up-to-date understanding of how rising energy costs are impacting early years providers.

‘We hope that as many providers as possible will respond to the survey and make their voices heard.’
