The difficult decision of whether to keep the nursery open while neighbouring schools close is often the first of many. Whether the decision is yours to make, or you are managing the decisions made by others, you can often find yourself positioned in between the needs and expectations of two very different sets of people: attempting to manage client expectations and ensuring that staff and children are safe.

While it is essential to do all we can to remain a dependable service to the clients who rely on us, there will be times when this is beyond our control. Parents will need to make alternative arrangements, and this can take time. Our parents depend on the service we provide for many reasons and are often placed in a difficult position if it is not there.
