10m for parenting courses

Parents with children and young people at risk of poor behaviour between the ages of eight and 13 will be offered targeted support and parenting courses with funding of 10m spread over two years, the DfES has announced. Parents in the 20 local authority areas who will pilot the scheme, will receive structured, evidence-based support, and advice on issues such as managing children's behaviour, building positive relationships and dealing with difficult issues such as drug and alcohol abuse.
