A boycott of seven toys and other products deemed to be sexualising young children has been started by parents on a blog site that received 75,000 hits last week. Alpha Mummy, a blog for working mothers on Timesonline, listed items such as sexy thongs, the Peekaboo dance pole and the Barbie Hot Tub Party Bus. The campaign against targeting children (see Special Report, p10) includes asking shops to remove items from shelves and encouraging schools to ban certain toys.
