A challenge for the chattering classes

* Children joined GMTV presenters Eamonn Holmes and Fiona Phillips (right) to promote the next Chatterbox Challenge to raise funds for ICAN, the charity for children with speech and language difficulties. The Challenge, which runs during the week of 2 February 2004 and is supported by Tesco Baby and Toddler Club, invites young children to learn songs, nursery rhymes and stories that their families and friends will sponsor them to perform. The funds raised contribute to the charity's programme of high-quality integrated therapy and education, delivered via its UK-wide network of early years centres.

Gill Edelman, I CAN chief executive, said, 'One in ten children in the UK struggles to communicate. I CAN's mission is to give them the same opportunities in life as their peers. Chatterbox Challenge is a fun event with educational value.'
