Nursery World - A disgusting cut

I think Leicester City Council's decision to cut provision for three-year-olds from the start of next term is disgusting (News, 4 October). My daughter should have had funding in January, but now we have to wait.

I'm a single working parent who receives the Working Families Tax Credit, which does not contribute towards pre-schools like the one my daughter goes to.

I have had to sell old baby items to pay for my daughter's education.

I also work in a nursery, where I have to explain to parents why they are not entitled to funding for their children just because of where they live.
