A new course for nannies

Nannies will no longer have to think of themselves as childminders when they go for a level 3 diploma developed by CACHE and the National Childminding Association. The new Diploma in Home-based Childcare (DHC) replaces the former Certificate in Childminding Practice. It's flexibly structured with five units that can be taken in the order that students prefer, and completing the first unit will count toward the Government's Childcare Approval Scheme. Applicants need not have any other prior qualifications and the DHC is designed to help students progress on to the level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development, or other professional qualifications. * To find out where you can take the DHC course see www.cache.org.uk or phone 01727 818 616.
