Following the BBC breakfast news coverage of the campaign against the new nursery education grant rules (7 September), I'd like to thank Darrell King, owner of the Old School House nursery in Kent, and Nursery World news editor Catherine Gaunt, who were both interviewed.

I liked it that Darrell King mentioned the Sure Start training on budget management and the importance of ensuring the nursery is cost-effective. I also thought the parent who was interviewed gave a good clear message about the consequences if the nursery was to close and that, as long as it was not too expensive, she was happy to pay a top-up fee.
