Agar Grove

(Photograph) - The mayor of Camden, councillor Nasim Ali, joined children and families at Agar Grove for a cake-cutting ceremony on 11 February to celebrate the opening of the north London borough's sixth Sure Start centre. The council's executive member for education, councillor Nick Smith, said, 'The council has pledged to extend the Sure Start programme to cover all families with under-fours in the borough because we recognise how important it is to give families the support they need.' So far about 1,500 families have signed up to Sure Start programmes, which currently cater for around half of the borough's children under the age of four.
