More than a third of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have been excluded from school, according to a survey of parents. The Attention Deficit Disorder Information and Support Service surveyed 526 families for the first national ADHD awareness week (18 to 24 September).

Around 70 per cent of the families did not have access to expert support, such as a nurse, advisory teacher or local ADHD clinic.
