Beep, Beep, Let's Go!

Beep, Beep, Let's Go! By Eleanor Taylor

This book has a big feel-good factor about it. My reviewer found the way the type was laid out appealing, pointing to the open, hand-written words in a fairly large size. Also enjoyed were the various obstacles to the cavalcade's progress to the beach. These include a red light at a crossing, and having to push the ice-cream van up the hill. I asked why my reviewer liked the story. 'Well, I'd like to be in this story - actually doing that - going to the beach, and it's exciting and everyone's rushing around.'

Delivering a direct appeal to children's interests, through likeable characters, makes this book a winner in my eyes.
