* Although babies under six months old don't yet have the skills to build up ring stackers in the right order, they'll enjoy holding, and chewing, the rings in the meantime. The Early Learning Centre (08705 352 352) makes a good wooden stacker for 10 with six brightly coloured, graduated rings and a red ball on top of the central spindle. Tomy does an attractive plastic sorter/stacker available at 12.99 from Galt (08702 424 477). It doesn't have a spindle, but it does have little egg-heads at the centre of each ring which will fit together and make the stack more stable.
