bfriends, merged with Children 1st on 1 April

Scotland's largest befriending organisation for children, bfriends, merged with Children 1st on 1 April. Children 1st chief executive Margaret McKay, said, 'bfriends had reached a point at which it was threatened with closure. I am delighted that Children 1st, working with the board of bfriends, has found a way to avoid the loss of this valuable service.' The Edinburgh-based organisation trains volunteers to provide friendship and support for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties at home, at school or in the community.
