A group of parents who dreamed of having a school in their village of Bolnore in West Sussex are the first in England to have won the right to open their own school through a competitive process. An eco-school for 210 children aged from four to 11 is to be built in regenerating woodland near Haywards Heath and open in September 2009. At the moment, village children travel to 20 different schools.
