Get ready to go - and then bring your learning experiences back to the setting for further reflection In the Foundation Stage, children will become increasingly aware of their own surroundings, recognising where things are and why they are there. They will be able to talk about buildings they recognise, journeys they make, parks and playgrounds they visit. In the Foundation Stage, children will become increasingly aware of their own surroundings, recognising where things are and why they are there. They will be able to talk about buildings they recognise, journeys they make, parks and playgrounds they visit. Some children will be familiar with signs, numbers and language in the built environment.
