Bring a teddy to raise cash for sick children

* Teddy bears are being enlisted in a summer campaign to raise money for children's healthcare. The charity Action for Sick Children, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, has teamed up with medicine manufacturers Sudocrem and Infacol to encourage parents, schools, playgroups and community centres to organise teddy bears' picnics as fundraising events.

The money raised will enable the charity to maintain its campaigning work for improvements in the quality of care for sick children and their families in hospital. The charity provides information and support to families with sick children and talks to key policymakers and managers to champion their needs.

Free Teddy Bears' Picnic packs including invitations, posters, recipes, a picnic checklist, a teddy bear mask for children to make, ideas for fundraising games and a donation form, can be ordered from Action for Sick Children, 300 Kingston Road, London SW20 8LX (020 8542 4848, fax 020 8542 2424).
