What is the Childcare Implementation Project?

The Childcare Implementation Project is looking at how local authorities can carry out their new duties under the Childcare Act most effectively. It aims to:

The project was launched by the Department for Education and Skills, the Local Government Association and the Improvement and Development Agency and involves 12 local authorities: Blackburn with Darwen, Telford and Wrekin, West Berkshire, Derbyshire, East Sussex, Gloucestershire, Northumberland, the London Boroughs of Barnet and Camden, Sheffield, Southampton and Rochdale.
