Bronchiolitis, a respiratory illness that primarily affects babies and children, is the subject of a new fact sheet produced by the medical charity Action Research. Bronchiolitis is the most common single cause of infant hospital admissions in the UK, yet a MORI poll research commissioned by the charity found that almost two-thirds (62 per cent) of people had never heard of it. The free factsheet lists the signs and symptoms of the illness, treatment available and what parents and carers should do if they suspect a child is suffering from the disease. Simon Moore, Action Research chief executive, said, 'Each year in the UK alone, bronchiolitis results in the hospitalisation of some 20,000 infants under one year old. As a seasonal disease, most cases peak between November and March.' For a fact sheet see the website www.actionresearch. org.uk/camp/bronch.html.
