* Washing up liquid * food colouring * sugar * glycerine * plastic cups * straws * shallow container * elastic bands

Step by step

* Mix together a quarter of a cup of washing up liquid, half of a cup of water, a few drops of food colouring and 1 teaspoon sugar.

* Alternatively, mix 1 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of glycerine (available in most chemists) and 2 tablespoons of washing up liquid together.

* Pour into a shallow container and use with homemade bubble blowers. Let the bubble solution age for a day or two to make your bubble blowing easier.
