Team leader Ian Begg said, 'These evening seminars allow prospective childminders to find out more about this vital and rewarding job. We offer advice and support on setting up in business, while a representative from the Care Commission explains its role.'

Scottish Childminding Association development officer Elaine Herron, who worked with the Trust on the seminars, said, 'This is a good way of encouraging people to see childminding as a business.'

One satisfied customer was 21-year old Lindsay Craig, who said she found the business advice very helpful. 'I hadn't really thought of it as starting a business, but now I feel I have all the information I need,' she said after her seminar.
