Denise Burke told a London conference, 'Children's Centres: Next Steps', about ways that local authorities could keep settings open with reduced budgets.
Ms Burke is now director of the social enterprise United for All Ages, which wants children's centres to become inter-generational settings to withstand the effect of cuts and to promote integration of different age groups (News, 12 January).
