'Call Ofsted if we haven't called you'

All childminders or daycare providers in England who have not yet been contacted by Ofsted for the purpose of registration and inspection are being urged to do so at once. The inspectorate said earlier this week that even though it was 'on track'

The inspectorate said earlier this week that even though it was 'on track'

to reach its target of carrying out Children Act inspections on all childminders and daycare providers in England by the end of March, it wanted any care providers who had not heard from Ofsted to contact it immediately so that it can update its records. They will need an Ofsted registration certificate to carry on working as care providers from April.

Chief inspector David Bell said that he was 'delighted' to be 'well on track' to achieving Ofsted's early years inspection target. But he added, 'We need the help of early years organisations, local authorities and local and regional media to ensure we have not missed anyone.
