Clubs Network (KCN) and the National Childminding Association (NCMA) to provide linked children's services available from a single site at one of the new childcare centres being built in five English regions. The centres, which will open next spring in Hartlepool, Hounslow, Grantham, Widnes and Birmingham, aim to provide nursery places alongside out-of-school care, as well as supporting childminding networks and offering space for training and meetings.

The project is part of the Government's Neighbourhood Nurseries Initiative and a first for a national organisation, according to NDNA chief executive Rosemary Murphy.
