Three leading national childcare groups have joined forces to create regional children's centres that will provide and support a range of childcare activities, as well as linking with health and social care.
The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is working with the Kids' Clubs Network (KCN) and the National Childminding Association (NCMA) to provide linked children's services available from a single site at one of the new childcare centres being built in five English regions. The centres, which will open next spring in Hartlepool, Hounslow, Grantham, Widnes and Birmingham, aim to provide nursery places alongside out-of-school care, as well as supporting childminding networks and offering space for training and meetings.
