Cerebral palsy campaign

(Photograph) - Seven children aged three to five who have cerebral palsy are the centrepiece of a campaign by the disability charity Scope. Posters on the London Underground show them dressed in outfits representing the adult occupations of store manager, brain surgeon, policeman, builder, stockbroker and helpline operator. Karen Smith, mother of five-year-old Katie from Mistley, Essex, who is dressed as a customer services manager (third from left), said, 'In an ideal world we would want Katie to succeed in any career she chooses, but in practical terms we know she will be restricted in terms of mental and physical capability. But we would like any other restrictions to be her own choice.' To mark its 50th anniversary Scope is inviting people to share their experiences of working with disabled people in an online survey at www.scope.org.uk/work.
