The £8.5 million financial support plan will benefit 2,200 staff in the employee-owned nursery group, which operates 44 nurseries in England.

Full-time staff in post during the previous financial year are set to receive six monthly tax-free payments of up to £500 between 1 December and 1 May 2023, with pro-rata payments for others.

This is irrespective of qualification or role within the company, with apprentices receiving the same maximum amount as members of the Executive Team, and nursery and head office staff.

New pay rises mean starting rates for Qualified Level 3 practitioners, for example, range from £11.50 an hour to £13.00 an hour in ‘high cost-of-living areas’.
