This prestigious award, now in its ninth year, provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of outstanding childcare students who show the potential to be brilliant childcare practitioners.
Judges will be looking for students who not only have excelled on their courses, but possess a high level of professionalism and the ability to deal with real-life situations in a practical manner.
Last year's winner was Jessica Whiteley from Plume College in Maldon, Essex, who was in her final year studying for a Level 3 CACHE Diploma.
Winning the award proved a life-changing experience for Jessica as she decided to change courses and university. She said, 'I was going to study social psychology but after winning Student of the Year I realised that my heart was in childcare.' She is now enjoying her first year BA (hons) Early Childhood Studies at University Campus Suffolk.
