Childline and other helplines promised grants

The NSPCC has been promised 30m in grants over four years by the Government, to help the charity strengthen its Childline service and other helplines.

Children will soon be able to access services via text message. NSPCCdirector and chief executive Dame Mary Marsh said, 'Thanks to thisfunding, we will be able to take thousands more calls from children indistress, and to help many more adults who are worried about a child'ssafety.'
