Parents of children with special educational needs want to know exactly what their rights are and don't want the professionals always to assume they know best, according to a survey carried out by Children in Scotland. Parents also called for SENchildren to have better access to mainstream schools and stressed the importance of allowing them to join in educational and social activities. A national conference for parents of SEN children will be held at the University of Stirling on 2 March, organised by Children in Scotland, which runs Enquire, the national information and advice service for SEN in Scotland. The Enquire helpline number is 0131 222 2400.
