Clubs network in Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire Network of Out-of-School Clubs held its annual Play Away Day at Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre, Huntingdon last month. The day was aimed at club managers, playworkers, volunteers and management committee members.

The 120 delegates who attended the event, which was part conference and part workshops, were given the opportunity to gain new skills and network with other clubs. Gail Bushell, east regional development officer for SPRITO, delivered a keynote speech about the new East Regional Centre for Playwork Education and Training, which it is hoped will be up and running by next April. A selection procedure is in progess to find a guest organisation that can give office space and services to three members of staff. It is also hoped that six satellite home bases will be established.
