Contactpoint database would be scrapped by Conservative government

The contactpoint database with names, ages and addresses of all children under 18 due to be introduced next year would be scrapped by a Conservative government, shadow schools secretary Michael Gove has said. As an alternative to the 224m ContactPoint, the Tories are expected to propose data sharing between key local professionals and small targeted databases to trace vulnerable children moving across boundaries.
