Councillors in Edinburgh have reversed their decision to hand out only packed lunches in 14 of the council's 18 nurseries, following a campaign by parents and local media (news, 15 May).
Councillors have also agreed to reopen three of the six primary schoolkitchens that were closed in June due to low demand, if the number ofdiners consistently hits 130 for a month.
