(Photograph) - Cowgate Under-Fives Centre in Edinburgh is one of just 65 buildings worldwide chosen by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for a new guide on how the design of a building can improve education. Manager Lynn McNair said, 'It's an oasis of calm in the centre of a beautiful, busy city.' The nursery has its own vegetable garden and has won several architectural awards since opening in 2002.
