Daycare trust o pilot project with 10,000 National Lottery award

The daycare trust is to pilot a project in Sheffield to promote the use of childcare and the take-up of financial benefits among refugee parents, with a 10,000 National Lottery award. The three-month project is to be run from December in collaboration with the Refugee Council. It will provide three outreach sessions for parents with interpreter support and two training sessions for parent advisors working with refugees in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. Emma Knights, joint chief executive of the Trust, said, 'This project will encourage refugee parents and their children to take an active part in the neighbourhood and wider community in which they live.'
