Ms Knights has worked with the Child Poverty Action Group, the Legal Services Commission and the Local Government Association, while Ms Garnham was previously head of policy at One Parent Families.
Rita Stringfellow, the new chair of the Daycare Trust, said, 'We are delighted to have Emma and Alison joining us. It's good for an organisation such as ours that campaigns for flexible working for parents to have them here in a job-sharing capacity.'
The Trust celebrated National Childcare Week (5-11 June) with the theme 'Children at the centre' to highlight the importance of children having their say about childcare. Events included the Childcare Champions Awards hosted by Treasury minister Ed Balls at 11 Downing Street, and the launch of a report by Penny Lancaster, RAMPS: a framework for listening to children, which draws on research by the Coram Family Listening to Young Children project.
