Design a Dinosaur: Are you a winner?

The entries are in and the judges of the 2014 annual Morton Michel drawing competition have chosen their winners.

Following previous themes of aliens, sea creatures and bugs, this year the childcare insurance specialist worked in association with the Dinosaur Society to invite children to design their own dinosaur.

The competition was open to all early years and childcare settings, with entries split into three age-related categories: under-fives, five-to-seven years and eight-to-11 years.

Nursery World editor Liz Roberts joined the judging panel to help select just three winners from more than 1,500 entries:

The under-fives category was won by three-year-old Isabelle Cooper from Richmond Pre-School, Benfleet, in Essex, for her drawing of a sleeping dinosaur.

Ruby Stanley Cardy, aged seven, from Stepgates Community School in Chertsey, Surrey, won the five-to-seven group with her fearsome-looking dinosaur.
