Direct debits to ease nurseries' cash flow

Nursery owners chasing bad debts might find their problems solved by a new direct debit payment system developed by Parenta, which provides websites and online services for the childcare sector. The Fee Planner system works in conjunction with a nursery's management software to collect variable fees by direct debit. The product, which is being launched at the Early Years and Primary Teaching Exhibition in Manchester this week, is designed to help nurseries control when and how much they are paid.

Using Fee Planner, the customer service team each month writes to parents advising them of the amount to be collected, and funds are then paid directly into the nursery's bank account. Parents who default on payment are contacted, informing them of a second collection and, if necessary, further debt collector services can be accessed.
