Doncaster child protection strengthened

Children's Minister Beverley Hughes last week outlined new steps to ensure children's services are delivered to the highest standards, following a Government inquiry into the child protection record of Doncaster local authority after the deaths of seven children in the area (News, 12 March).

Ministers urged Doncaster council to work with the DCSF in bringing in a new, experienced management team to lead the delivery of children's services and make other improvements.
